Tuesday Evening Training 6.45PM

MTRs warm up before a runTuesday evening training begins at 6.45PM at St.Louis Infant School car park on the Clones Road.

After a short warm up, 3 groups are formed; Advanced, Intermediate and Beginners. During the bright evenings the run will take us through the scenic trails of Rossmore Park with the distance varied depending on your group (8k, 10k and 12k) over the 1 hour session.

During the darker, colder evenings the route changes to the just as scenic roads around Monaghan Town (Hi-Vis wear and head lamps a must). Similar distances to suit all levels.

Thursday Evening Training 6.45PM

MTRs at Beech Hill running trackThursday evening is Interval training.  This is so important for the improver. Led by Coach Denis, all attendees will be given a varied track session each week designed to increase stamina and speed.

This session normally uses the track at Beech Hill Secondary School at 6.45PM but check Facebook for changes and updates.

Early-Logo539433fe1c923.jpgThe club runs an 8-week training program for people who want to take up running / jogging and either don’t know how, or just need the encouragement to keep going.  For the first couple of weeks our volunteers, led by Coach Ray, will get you up and ‘running’ with gradual short runs / rest / long run / rest training over 1-2k distances.

Towards the end of the 8 weeks the beginner is now able to run longer distances and ready for more challenges. Towards the end of the 8 weeks the beginner is now able to run longer distances and ready for more challenges.  The program runs 3 times throughout the year for a half hour each Saturday.  Keep an eye on our Facebook page for when the next training is starting.

Note: There are also beginner groups on the usual training evening of Tuesday and Thursday.
